Process technology & plant engineering. Glatt at CRU Phosphates 2026

April 13, 2:30 pm: ‘Technological Solution for Designing Customized Products from Liquid and Powdered Raw Materials’ This is the topic of the Glatt presentation at CRU Phosphates Conference 2026, on in Paris, France, 13 – 15 April 2026! With its unique combination of engineering competence, reliable plant design, and proven process technologies, Glatt positions itself as a trusted partner for customers worldwide seeking sustainable solutions in recycling, functional materials, and innovative product development.

PHOS4green pilot plant in Weimar

PGOS4green pilot plant now in Weimar for phosphorus recycling with reduced heavy metal content. Glatt Ingenieurtechnik is using a containerized plant for heavy metal removal from sewage sludge ash as part of phosphorus recovery trials. Thanks to PHOS4green technology at the new demonstration plant, sewage sludge ashes with elevated heavy metal content can be converted into fertilizer granules for the agricultural industry that meet all compliance requirements.

Glatt @ KWTK 2024

‘PHOS4green. Phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge ash with heavy metal removal’: Dr. Buchheim, Glatt Ingenieurtechnik, 08.10.2024 – 5:15 p.m. Meet one of the Glatt experts for phosphorus recycling and learn more about the PHOS4green technology. The addition of selective heavy metal removal to PHOS4green minimizes unwanted ash components. Heavy metals are selectively removed using selected mineral acids. This releases valuable material streams that offer additional potential for marketing as building materials or raw materials for hydrometallurgical recycling.

Striving for efficient recycling solutions

Phosphorus recycling from sewage sludge: more fertilizer, fewer heavy metals: Phosphorus is essential as an agricultural fertilizer. Globally, this indispensable element is becoming increasingly scarce, putting an increasing focus on recovery where natural phosphate deposits are rare. Glatt Ingenieurtechnik GmbH has further developed its patented PHOS4green fertilizer production process so that sewage sludge ash from conurbations with high heavy metal contents can be used. Their removal means that fewer pollutants are released into the environment. Glatt has expanded its PHOS4green process to facilitate the legally compliant recovery of valuable materials from sewage sludge ash contaminated with heavy metals

Phosphorus recovery by Glatt PHOS4green at CRU Phosphates 2024 at stand 36

With PHOS4green, we have developed an innovative patent-protected technology to recover the essential nutrient phosphorus from sewage sludge ashes and use it for new phosphate or compound fertilizers. Recovery of phosphorus from ashes. Direct conversion into fertiliser granules. Heavy metal depletion. Meet us at the CRU Phoaphates 26-28 February 2024 in Warsaw, Poland at stand 36 and learn more about our proven technology.

Sewage sludge: pollutant and raw material source at the same time

The fact that phosphorus is filtered out during wastewater treatment because of its serious consequences for the aquatic ecosystem in turn makes sewage sludge an important source of raw materials. It is this ambivalence of pollutant and raw material source that has led to thinking about alternative disposal methods. One such is sewage sludge mono-incineration. (Article in German language)
