In order to form particles with application-optimised properties from liquid or solid starting materials, integrated solutions are required. Those offered by Glatt using state-of-the-art fluid bed and spouted bed technologies, as well as powder synthesis. Targeted combinations of shaping and thermal treatment enable the production of both homogeneous and coated nano and micro powders, as well as dust-free easy flowing granulates or pellets with the desired properties in just one process step, improving their application and handling. Benefiting from tailor-made particle properties, these are used in numerous high-performance materials, such as catalysts or innovative medical ceramics. Other areas of application include the activation and coating of new types of battery materials. But also further material examples as fertilizers, crop protection products, technical salts, polymers, surfactants, detergents, cleaning agents, color pigments, ceramics, catalysts, minerals, trace elements and acids are in Glatt’s scope and part of decades of experience.

Offering targeted solutions for a broad array of material systems, applications and industries, fluid bed spray granulation elevates the basic concept of spray drying to a whole new level. Compared with a spray dried product, for example, the properties of those made using a fluidised bed can be customised to meet specific requirements. Depending on the operational parameters and the technical configuration of the plant, particle shape, structure and size can be precisely defined with a significant amount of flexibility.

At the Glatt Technology Center in Weimar, we work together with you to determine the optimum process conditions for your product in feasibility trials for product development. Various laboratory facilities and comprehensive analytical equipment are available for this purpose. On our pilot plants, we optimize the process and scale it up reliably to a stable and economical production scale. The results from this form the basis for the design and construction as well as the erection of your fluid bed or spouted bed plant, tailored to your requirements.
