Optimize formulations for detergent components, ensure specific functions and protect valuable ingredients
Do you want to make your detergents more sustainable with new formulations, improved cleaning efficacy while reducing the consumption of raw materials and packaging materials?
Fluid bed technology and spouted bed technology, with a wide range of process options, enable defined adjustment of bulk densities, stabilization of mixtures and, of course, separation of active ingredients – such as bleaching agents, perfume oils or enzymes – by coating the individual components.
There are many adjusting screws and leeway, from specific particle shapes and sizes to the release of individual ingredients. Synthesis by chemical reaction is also possible. The different processes in the fluid bed are used specifically to spray different liquids simultaneously. Due to the variety of options, a wide range of end product properties can be achieved. These are influenced by the properties of the starting materials, the plant geometry and the selection of the process parameters
We improve the solubility of your detergents. We ensure that ingredients are homogeneously distributed in particles with a broad, selectively adjustable particle size spectrum. In addition, the refined substances can be compacted and dosed better, more specifically and more reliably. They are more stable in storage and can be color-matched to the product design.
We will be pleased to support you in the realization of your product innovations. At the Glatt Technology Center in Weimar, we work with you to determine the optimum process conditions for your product in feasibility trials for product development. Various laboratory facilities and comprehensive analytical equipment are available for this purpose. On our pilot plants, we optimize the process and scale it up reliably to a stable and economical production scale. The results from this form the basis for the design and construction as well as the erection of your fluid bed or spouted bed plant, tailored to your requirements. As an alternative to our own process technology, we offer you the outsourcing of your production by means of contract manufacturing at Glatt.

How can cleaning agents components be produced in a more environmentally friendly and effective way?
With fluid bed and spouted bed technologies, plant manufacturer and process expert, Glatt Ingenieurtechnik, offers modern, established solutions.
As a manufacturer of consumer goods, the detergent industry must respond to megatrends like no other. One of these drivers is sustainability; eco-friendly biosurfactants have been available since 2009 and, now, alternative complexing agents such as α-ADA or MGDA-Na3 can be produced from renewable raw materials and used to replace phosphates. According to the German Zukunftsinstitut (Future Institute), the neo-ecology megatrend is causing a reorientation of the values of global society, culture and politics and will have a defining impact on the 2020s. Consumers and business partners alike are asking about transparent value creation and whether social aspects are being considered. As an example, seamless traceability has long been standard practice.
Yet, the ongoing microplastics debate calls for a rethink when it comes to encapsulated fragrances or when the fibres of functional clothing have to be fished out of wastewater. Solutions for all these requirements can only be realised if the chemical industry and original equipment manufacturers work closely together. Innovative raw materials is one side of the coin; technological advances in laundry washing is the other! …
